Mumbai welcomed its very first concept store, “Le Mill”, at an afternoon hosted by Cecilia Morelli Parikh, Julie Leymarie, the store’s creative consultant Aurélie de Limelette and fashion consultant, Anaita Shroff Adajania.
Located by Mumbai’s docks, Le Mill introduces a new aesthetic in lifestyle and fashion combining the best of craftsmanship with a sense of understated luxury. The 15,000 square foot store features home décor, furniture, textiles, carpets, ready to wear, accessories and will house a café, a flower shop, bookstore and an exhibition space. Formerly an old rice mill, the concept store is sure to become a lifestyle sanctuary catering to all who exude a style that balances elegance and playfulness.

Guests were immersed in a unique industrial meets eclectic sensibility. An assortment of birds, storks, parrots and crows adding a whimsical, playful touch, greeted everyone in unexpected corners of the store. The “Nature” theme of the event underscored the Le Mill team’s desire to bring a more ‘natural’ sensibility to their retail assortment and to source sustainable products that give back to the community. Le Mill’s team is committed to building an ethically conscious business that acknowledges the amazing growth of modern India, but also looks at promoting Indian artisanal heritage.
People who attended the event were seen discovering the sprawling space and the products at Le Mill. Guests mingled while listening to a great live jazz band and sipping champagne. The event also saw an array of great organic food created by Le Mill Café team under the supervision of Chef Nicole, who has worked alongside Gordon Ramsey for the past 8 years.
